Matt Bostaph

Partnership Director & Coach

Matt grew up in a small beach town on the east coast. Most of his days were spent surfing and doing tons of physical outdoor activities. After high school Matt moved to the Dominican Republic for missions work where he later met his wife, Constance. Together they have 2 kids and moved to Idaho in 2020.

Matt has had the privilege of working alongside and learning from internationally known coaches in CrossFit, Olympic Lifting, and endurance training. Matt loves putting a unique spin on fitness to get you fit, enjoy the process, and to prepare you for life. Matts bread and butter is CrossFit style training, functional body building, and what he calls mountain wilderness training. He uses these methods to increase fitness, improve leadership, and strengthen faith and friendship.

Beyond The Gym

    • Let’s get Real. What is your largest health and fitness thorn? How do you prune this thorn?

Currently dealing with a shoulder injury that definitely takes its toll mentally. When you know what you are capable of, and you are not able to achieve that, my tendency is to give up because if I can’t do what I’m capable of why do it at all. I of course don’t allow this to take hold and still take steps to heal. I’m simply sharing my mental battles when dealing with this injury or any injury for that matter.

    • Results matter Most. Why are you a Personal Trainer? What motivates you to Coach people?

I really enjoy serving and helping others. Show people that it’s never too late. Watching them overcome obstacles, get stronger, become healthier, and ultimately be their best self. This drives me. Pushes me to be better. It’s a challenging task to say the least but when someone you are training has a breakthrough, it makes all those challenges worth it.

    • Education is Success. How are you better than all the other personal trainers? What makes your Coaching different?

I’m very visual in how I learn. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the best coaches in the world. Watching their every move and really trying to understand why they do what they do. Not just how they program but how they live their lives, learn, teach, talk, and carry themselves. I am also constantly listening to lectures, reading studies, watching other elite coaches train, and talking the time to blend all these things into my own unique style of training that best suits me and my clients.

    • Are you human? Who are you outside of the Gym? What are some of your hobbies you enjoy?

As far as I know, yes, I’m human. I love surfing, skiing, dirt biking, adventures, and just taking in God’s creation. This is where I am the happiest. I’m not big into crowds, I like the outdoors while sharing it with just a few close friends that love God and we can challenge each other and push each other to grow. When I’m not doing these things, I genuinely love spending time with my kids and wife. Seeing them smile and grow is what keeps me putting one foot in front of the other especially when life gets hard

    • You’re my People. When is the best time to connect with you? How do you like to meet new clients/friends?

Authentically. I love people dearly and feel deeply, however I’m not a social butterfly. My worst nightmare is parties, concerts, any other large social event. That being said, I find the best way to build any relationship is when you allow yourself to be vulnerable and go through hard things with another person. Whether that be a hard hike, a workout, tragedy, etc. It’s in those moments that I believe real relationships are created that last. The ones that impact you, grow you, and allow you to become a better person while in turn hopefully being able to do the same to others.
