7 Benefits of Hiring a Fitness Coach
Everyone wants to be successful. More than likely, you wouldn’t be reading this if there wasn’t something that you wanted to improve upon when it comes to your fitness level. What’s one of the best ways to do so? Get yourself a fitness coach. Here we’ll break down several of the benefits hiring a fitness coach can provide to advance your training regimen and allow you to meet your fitness goals.

  1. Goal Achievement: Assessing your current fitness level, defining your fitness goals, mapping out the necessary steps to achieve them, and tracking progress. These are the essentials of fitness coaching, and sits at the top of our list.
  2. Safety and Proper Form: A critical component to success, fitness coaches teach their clients to maintain proper form, and commonly demonstrate the exercise themselves. This helps to work out any kinks in technique, and drastically reduces the risk of injury.
  3. Motivation: Fitness coaches do more than tell clients to reducing calorie intake and increase exercise. They teach the principles of behavioral modification, and help people overcome the psychological barriers that keep them in an unhealthy cycle of habits.
  4. Accountability: The decision to work with a fitness coach is a commitment. A committed coach will ensure you honor your commitment. We’ve all had moments of weakness when we cave to the pressures of television and pizza, or that extra hour of sleep. Coaches will push you to get to the gym and take care of business when other temptations arise.
  5. Variety: Experienced coaches provide many different exercise methods. Not only does this improve exercise efficiencies by keeping the body guessing, it also keeps clients from getting bored with the same old routine.
  6. No Wasted Time: Plans are prepared for you every day. No dilly dallying around the weight room, or slowly drifting from machine to machine. Your session has a purpose, and a coach will maximize the time you invest.
  7. Accommodation: Among the most versatile professions in terms of hours, fitness coaches will work around your schedule and tailor appointments that suit your needs.

I didn’t realize that fitness coaches will help you create plans for every day you train. My wife and I want to get in better shape so that we can start getting into races. Since coaches can help us create a plan, we will definitely find a coach that can keep us focused and motivated to push ourselves.

I really liked it when you mentioned that a fitness trainer will explain the proper form of using exercise equipment so that the risk of injury will be greatly minimized. I tried doing the exercise alone once and ended up straining my arm muscles and not being able to use it for a week. That is the reason why this part got my attention. Now that I want to resume my fitness goals, I think the first step should be to hire a trainer.

Absolutely, Schiro! It is SO important to follow the proper form, reps, weight, etc when training. Having someone assist you that has that knowledge background could save you a lot of pain!

I have been wanting to get into shape this year, so thanks for sharing this. I like your point about how a fitness coach can help you stay motivated. I always lose my motivation to work out over time, so having someone to push me sounds ideal.

I like how you mentioned that experienced exercise coaches will help you plan exercise for everyday. I’ve been wanting to become more healthy, as I think it will help me feel better emotionally. Do you have any tips for choosing a great exercise coach in my area?

Great question, Taylor! Check out some gyms near you and choose one you like not only based on equipment, atmosphere, etc. but also on their philosophy & make sure to do an initial consultation with any trainer to see if they’re a good fit for you. Don’t be afraid to ask about their experience and what education background they have. If you are interested in having a remote trainer who can give you a program to follow and do regular check-ins with you via the phone, then please fill out our contact form! 🙂

I am really glad that you mentioned how a fitness coach will be able to map out the necessary steps for you to achieve your fitness goals. My son has had a long bout with obesity during his youth. He is in better shape, but he definitely wants to shave off more pounds. I know he has trouble drawing up a fitness plan and sticking to his routines, so I think working with a fitness coach will help him get fitter faster.
